Counting my blessings

I think it's time to take stock of some of the good things, that have happened lately. We paid our bills on time this month. We had some extra and I geeked out and bought a wireless router so we could hook up the computer the church gave us. Now the kids can play on PBSKids and Playhouse Disney and John can play his fantasy football stuff and look for another job cause the one he has sucks. Then, cause the keyboard on that puter busted, I gave them mine and got me a wireless keyboard and mouse. I like them, actually, accept for the fact that I have to reconnect the mouse every once in a while. LOL

I had my three month review at work and my boss still loves me. She gave me a practically perfect review and said she was going to try and get me a raise. Today when I was driving into work, she called me and told me the weather was too yucky and that I should stay home today. So I turned around and came home and did a little cleaning and took a nap. Updated the church website. Blogged. LOL It's cool. I love my job. I hope it lasts a while.

I got my car inspected. Had to get 4 new tires and 4 new brake pads, but we were able to pay for it. And Mike our car guy is so cool, he always gives us a good deal on everything.

I was invited to speak at the IT Committee meeting at the church last week. I made a PowerPoint presentation explaining why the current website/email set up is such a disaster. I waked in there, I presented it, I told them they needed to fix this soon and I told them what I thought they needed to do. They actually listened to me. The asked questions, they listened to my answers. Then the chair of the committee, who set up this nightmare configuration, said they would look into the alternatives and get their recommendations back to me for my review. I mean, they are finally going to run something past me before they do it! At least that's what they said. Now whether that actually happens or not... I'm really not holding my breath.

I think my shrink summed it up best. He said, "So you're being treated with respect." And I think that's exactly it. The people at my job are treating me with respect, the people I work with at the church are treating me with respect... Yeah. It's kinda cool. But it could all go south tomorrow. So I'm just going to try and enjoy it while it's here and not get out ahead of it.

Peace out. :D
