I love my kids...

Ok, if you're not up for a "My Kids are SOOOOOOOOOOO Great!" schpeal, leave now.

If you're still here, you're getting it. Sorry. You were warned.

Ian is actually doing pretty well at school. Academically he is still performing at or above age level. The last note we had home from his teacher said that he had two really good days where he went right to his work instead of playing around. She said all the kids clapped when he was the third one done with his lion. He said he really liked that. It sounds like he is starting to make more friends as well, which is AMAZING for him. When he came home from his after school program he said that he really likes Willie now because he and Willie spent time together playing with Legos. Now Legos are his new favorite toy and thanks to Aunt Shirley, he has a HUGE supply of them here at home. And everything has to have wheels, wings and rockets. And most of the things have to have dump truck dumpers on them too. LOLOL He really loves the space shuttle. I'm loving life, I tell you. He finally likes something I know something about. We went here and had a great time watching videos and learning stuff. There is going to be a new launch in May so we will be following that. How cool! Ok, I'm a geek.

And, this is really cool, by the way... He and Aidan were playing together the other day. Aidan wanted to play with his train tracks he got for xmas. He didn't want her to but she took the box anyway. Ian took it back and put it in the kitchen, which made Aidan cry. Ian came back in the living room and told Aidan "I don't want you to play with my train tracks but I still love you." To which Aidan replied "I love you too but I'm still sad" Now how many full grown adults can have that kind of conversation!!! How many mature functioning members of society are that open and honest with their feelings and communicate it to another living being???? Damn I love my kids. I swear they must be pod people cause I can't possibly be responsible for them being this cool.

Aidan is...Aidan. The universe just smiled on that child. She is now drawing little people. They are circles with arms and legs and smiley faces. And sometimes hair. And if it's me it has glasses and ears. LOLOL They are adorable. Everytime I see one I just smile. I'll have to scan one one of these days and post it. And she loves her princess dress she got for xmas and her Wiggles guitar. I do actually have pics of that. Here:

It looks like we will probably have to sell the house. John still hasn't gotten a job. We got a check from gramma and grampa and managed to get a quarter tank of heating oil. The woodstove works alright but it's a pretty big cold snap right now so the furnace is a better option right now. Which is why I'm really not updating right now. I don't have anything good to say and who wants to read a whole pile of depressing crap.

But the kids are doing great, so there ya go. The good with the bad, as it were.

Wow you really have had your share of up & downs. I am happy you haven't lost it totally. Life can throw so many curve balls ones way at times it makes me wonder. I work at a social services department and don't see may parents who put their kids well being even close to their own. As if the crap they choose to do is wellbeing even for themselves. I love my kids so much and make absolutely sure their lives are full of love, stability, and normalcy. Its nice to read someone else who values that too.
