I'm Alive
I've been doing a lot of readjusting things in my life lately. I dropped most of my committees in my woman's group. I'm finding myself having a lot less energy than I used to have. But I'm kind of getting a more selective priority list as well. I am volunteering for Ian's school and the church but I'm taking some time for myself too. I think I may have finally accepted the fact that I just can't do it all. ROFL It sucks to realize that but I suppose it's better to be realistic.
Ian is doing phenomenal in school!!! He loves it and is doing great according to his teachers. I am keeping in contact with all of them as much as I can without being a complete pain in the a**. I just got in touch with his OT teacher yesterday. She says he is doing much better with his pencil grip. She has been going into his classroom to do some of his OT and there is also a pull out session. She says he is much more focused and able to transition and stay on topic in the one on one sessions. Need I say "DUH!!!!!" She said she is able to use visual cues to help him so I asked if they are using these visual cues in the classroom and if not can she get together with one of the three teachers in there and teach them how. I also asked if she could look into getting a visual schedule in there for him. It's not brain surgery. She didn't get back to me before the end of the day so hopefully I will hear back from her on Monday. I emailed the ST as well but he didn't get back to me at all. He seems like a good guy though. We met him at Open House last week.
Speaking of Open House, here are some pics from the occasion... ;oD
The Discovery Table in Ian's classroom
The Zizzer Zazzer Zuzzy he made in Art Class
He had a great time showing us around. I have never seen him so excited or so proud. It was fabulous.
Thursday is Show and Tell day. This week he took pictures of one of the Eastern Redback Salamanders that live in the back yard in. If I know him, everyone in that class knows everything there is to know about Eastern Redbacks now. LOLOL
Cute kid. :oD
I have been getting into CSI lately. I found a fanfiction site when I was stressing out about Ian's starting kindergarten and it kind of helped me get settled down. Then I started reading the transcripts from the shows, and getting involved in the fandom a little bit, especially around Grissom and Sara 'ship stuff. It's really great. I may create a fan page. ye gads. LOLOL Basically I have just been taking a mental vacation. I highly recommend it.
Well, that's it for today. I promise now that I've got my head in a better place I will be posting more again.
Peace.
