What in the ever lovin' world is up with this GMail hubub!? I have been bloghoppin this afternoon after bustin my butt all morning and every other blog has something about GMail on it. People are selling GMail invites on EBay for cryin out loud! It's NUTS!
Ok, I have GMail. I got it because I was a member of Blogger and Google bought Blogger so everyone who was a member was offered the chance to get an account. I signed up because it was 1 gig of email space. But I have come to realize that it's not all that and a bag of chips by any means. You can't access it on a Mac which means I can't check it at work. It's not POP3 so I can't use it for my groups. All in all it's pretty useless aside from the space. If they ever make it POP3, I will get excited.
So if you are someone I know and like and you want a GMail account, let me know and I'll invite you. :oD
I am going to try and work on Rich's Peace Corps site tonight. I finally got over the initial "What the heck do I wanna do" kind of thing and now I have a template started. It's all downhill from there. I am going to do some work on this template and the main family site as well. I think I may either put this blog on the front page or start a generic family blog to put there. It is so much easier to update these things than it is to update webpages. Especially when I have to work on this godsforsaken macintosh all day. I HATE MACINTOSH! There is absolutely NOTHING useful you can do on a mac. I was trying to watch some movies available online from the
Dan Marino Child Nett.tv site. They have some really good autism related videos including a talk by Temple Grandin. BUT NOOOOOOOOOO........ Can't view it on a mac. I watched some of the Temple Grandin one last night on my laptop with no trouble at all. Did I mention I hate mac? Nobody programs for mac. Nobody configures their websites for mac. Mac sucks. I want to get another desktop for home so I can bring my laptop here to work. But since I have been living on crackers and cherries for the past three days because we have no money til I get paid tomorrow, I don't see that happening in the near future. poo Did I mention I hate mac?
I have to get the church webpage ready for the summer too. UUs don't go to church much in the summer so the webpage won't have to be updated much. Thank goodness.
It looks like we won't be closing tomorrow. There was some talk that because tomorrow is suddenly a Federal Holiday that we might close down for it, but it would seem that such is not the case. Not that I really felt a commemoration of Reagan was in order but having an extra day off is always a good thing. :oD
Well, not much else to yak about today.
