Getting a little more organized...
Blogger just keeps getting more and more upscale don't it? LOLOL So I decided to take advantage of some of the newer features. I added titles to the entries so they would look better in the new list of previous posts over there on the side. I also decided that while I like those little fanlisting gadgets over there, I have way too many of them and I want lots more. So rather than curb my gluttony, I have added an iframe so anyone that wants to can scroll through all of them and they won't take up so much room on the page. I finally put up a pic of my new desktop. Same artist, new art. :oD That's my laptop, too, the desktop has a different one.
John is over at a fellow member of the church's house wiring the second floor of their new house. He will also be doing the 3rd floor when they get that part going. AND they are going to pay him, which is extra cool. My car is on fumes and I have my doubts that I will make it home from work today, but we're flat out of cash until either John gets an unemployment check or I get paid in a week. GEEZ. He called Michelle at the Electricians Union yesterday but the tests haven't come back yet so no interview in the near future for that gig. Did I mention that I hate unemployment?
My birthday was pretty quiet. It was an Orono day so I was in the car with Martie and then in a not as much of a waste of time as usual staff meeting. The head of the IT department gave a presentation on accessibility that was pretty good, and I got to show off some of my vast storehouse of trivial technology knowledge. Thanks Babelfish. LOLOL When I got home, I found out John spent $10 on an autographed pic of Counting Crows on eBay. I almost killed him. Good lord, what is he 13? goof When the kids got home we had homemade brownies and homemade watermelon ice-cream. A mighty tasty combination, I might add!
I noticed as I was getting the kids strapped into the car this morning that Ian has 2 permanent teeth coming in behind the one loose one. I tried to call the dentist today but I forgot they don't work on Friday. (insert disgusted comment on overpaid, underworked medical professionals here). So I will call them on Monday and see if that's ok or not.
In other news that makes me disgusted, there was apparently some kind of skunk turf war underneath our house on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. The smell woke me up in the middle of the night and wouldn't let me get much sleep the rest of the night. It was so bad I could taste it. GAD When I got up in the morning I realized that it had permeated the entire house. I dressed and went to work. When Kerri came in she said, "Something smells like skunk in here." Sure enough, I smelled my shirt and it was me. So all of the clothes, sheets, carpets, every porous surface in the entire house is toxic. John has been doing a marathon clothes washing session since then and we will have to Rug Doctor all the rugs and carpets. We have Fabreeze and have been using it copiously and aside from 2 spots, the house smells much better, but it was still about the most offensive experience I have ever had.
And on that note, I hope you're birthday is much better. LOLOL
Peace
