Ugh. My throat hurts. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night because of it. It feels like I'm getting a cold. >:op~~~~~~~~~~~
John and I talked and decided to go ahead and switch to XP on the desktop so I was planning on having him take it in today or tomorrow. I also decided to go ahead and network the desktop and the laptop as well, so I don't have to keep walking up and down the hallway in the middle of trying to get something done. So I was going to have him take the laptop in as well. Today or tomorrow. He had unhooked the desktop but I hadn't backed up yet so I asked him to hook it back up long enough for me to do a back up on Sunday night. "Oh no," he says, "I'm not going to take it in until probably Wednesday, I'll do that later". "Ok," I say. Well I get home from work yesterday and guess what?! My desktop and laptop are GONE!!! Geez. He said he realized when he got to the shop that this was probably a bad plan and that I would probably be a bit miffed. Which I was. The 'puter guys said they would back up for me so I hope they do. I really can't stay mad at him though. It was a nice thing for him to do. And he is having them put max memory in my laptop as well, so that is a bonus. *sigh* But I will be 'puterless until Thursday. I already feel the withdrawal pains. He tried to make it up to me by making me a yummy steak and baked potato dinner and rented some movies.
I have watched a lot of movies in the last 3 days, actually. I watched
Matrix: Revolutions on Saturday night,
Blade II on Sunday night and
The Rundown last night. I had seen
Blade II before but John hadn't. He didn't like it much. Said it was too predictible and a poor excuse for too much violence. Neither of us had seen
Matrix III yet. It was good, but... A bit unsatisfying. I have to say that I don't agree with those who find this to be a retelling of the Jesus myth. It actually seems more like an Arthurian Legend to me. Especially the final scene with Neo. I did like it though. The only good thing I have to say about
The Rundown is that Darrell is actually starting to show some acting talent. Other than that, don't even waste your time or money. It was flat out awful. I still haven't watched
The Scorpion King. I have it and it's on my list, I just haven't watched it yet. I may actually get
Walking Tall. I saw the original one when I was a kid and liked it. And I do enjoy Darrell as a budding actor. And you gotta admit the man makes for fine eye candy. LOLOL And even though I have heard pretty terrible things about it, I am going to watch
The League of Extraordinary Gentlement. It's a curiosity thing. I love Sean Connery and the premise sounds way too funny.
Easter weekend was...interesting. The kids got 2 easter baskets this year. Thanks to Aunt Shirley. LOLOL Oh, and by the way, the bag of dinosaurs was an understandably BIG hit. We went to church on the morning of, and they had the Child Dedication Ceremony on that morning. A bit of organized chaos at the best of times. Ian and Aidan were dedicated last year when Jean was still the minister. Ian really did try to participate in the part where the kids went up to promise to befriend the new child and welcome them into the church community. He didn't quite understand what it was for and kept coming back again. After the second time, I explained it and told him he had to stay up there until the ceremony was through and he was fine. Then the kids went to the RE worship room for some readings on Easter and Passover. Next year I am going to give them some books on Ostara and Beltane, dangit!! LOLOL Needles to say Ian was a bit disturbed by the stories. Lots of killing and plagues and plagues of killing. Hopefully not too much damage was done. He didn't want to talk about it afterward. They all went out and had an Easter Egg hunt in the playground so that may have taken his mind off it. But knowing him, it's just perculating around in his head somewhere and it will pop up later when I least expect it.
Aidan is still having some potty diffuculties. I did see some progress this morning though. She was downstairs getting a breakfast bar, peed in her pants, came upstairs, took off her pants, put the potty seat on the toilet and sat on it. Then she came in and told me she peed. LOLOL Well, it's getting closer anyway! At least she isn't just ignoring it and running around wet, refusing to get changed!!!
Ok, that's it for me today. I'm wore out. Tomorrow I will address the comments on ABA.
