Pretty quiet Patriot's Day weekend around here. The kids got to go out and run around in the yard, which was good. Yesterday it got up to 83! I had the window fan going in the computer room. I have had to move my base of operations down there for now. The computers came back but the laptop was acting up for the first couple of days. It seems better now. We had to go out and get a new router with a hardware firewall and set up the new household network. I love it! And now that the laptop seems to be behaving itself better I think I am going to be satisfied with my computer situation for a while longer. I finally upgraded to Publisher 2003 since that is what the church is using so the newsletter is actually getting easier to do. I finished it in a day yesterday. One of the guys on the membership committee came up to me on Sunday and told me that he has been hearing from members of the congregation that we have the best website in the state! I must admit that makes me happy. I do put a lot of work into it. I am still thinking of doing a redesign but I haven't come up with any great ideas yet.

It will be nice to get outside again. I am eager to set up my altar in the thicket. It will be nice to cast a circle there and make contact with nature, get more connected. Winter is really a tough time.

Not much good news to report on the potty training front. :o( But she does seem to be excelling on the social front. Apparently she and the other girls in the toddler room are quite the little set. I am so glad I don't have to worry about her on that. It's wicked hard work. She is doing great with the prereading as well. She can spell her name and type it out on the computer 9 times out of 10. On Saturday we were play/working on the computer and she typed her name without help, she typed daddy with me spelling it the first time then she did it all by herself the next couple of times and the same thing with mommy. She really is a smart kid. I would venture to say she is as smart as Ian. She just doesn't have the same level of interest in learning that Ian does. She much prefers singing and dancing. This morning she was singing the Sun song. "Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun. Please shine down on me. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun. Please shine down on, please shine down on, please shine down on me." It was a nice sunny morning when we were getting into the car. I am going to have to do some research on engaging kids with little interest in learning. Well, at least little interest in learning things that public schools will find important. If they have the dance and movement classes again this summer at her school I will see if we can afford to sign her up. She will LOVE that.

I had one of those Misty Mommy moments on Friday. Martie was telling me how things went at school with Ian that morning and she said that she noticed that morning that the other kids in the class really thought of Ian as just another member of the gang. They include him in their games and conversations at the lunch table and at activity time. When Elise, the bossy girl, is organizing games at recess, she always keeps Ian in the activity. It was one of the most wonderful things I have ever heard. I was tearing up and grinning like an idiot when she was telling me. How cool is that?! My beautiful boy is one of the gang. These kids don't think he's weird, they don't shun him or make fun of him. They treat him like just another one of them. And she also said that he is bringing dinosaurs into his play a lot less than he used to. He is doing much better about playing other kids' games and talking about other topics. It's working, blessed be, and NO ABA!!!!!!! But we still let him dinosaur his brains out at home. :oD That's his time and he can do whatever he wants to with it. So this weekend, he took some of his dinosaur toys outside and buried them, then had a dinosaur dig and dug them up. And yesterday we had some playdough and we were taking the dinosaur toys and making fossil imprints. We did the Archeopterix(sp) toy and then looked on the internet to see the real fossil imprint to compare. He loved it. He even changed his playdough imprint where there were discrepancies so it matched the picture on the computer. And a couple of times over the weekend he and Aidan were both playing with the dinosaurs and sea creature toys in the sink with water and soap, giving them baths and letting them swim. Very cool stuff. :oD

Nice Lady, who screwed me at my review, actually did something nice again last week. I did about 85% of her quarterly report for her and she actually called my boss to compliment me. Go Nice Lady and Go me. :oD

Well, that's enough for today, folks.

Peace.
