MMMMMM chili. I just love chili. Yes, it's lunchtime again. I went over to Shaws and got some of the Cook's Chili and Coke today. I always put cheese from the salad bar on the chili. Sorry, chili ain't chili without cheese. And some yummy Cracked Black Pepper crackers.
Ok, the bad news. John didn't get the cable job. :o( (the crowd goes aaaaaawwwwwww) I am devistated on many levels by this, not the least of which is that I just spent $650 to get my little red Saturn past inspection. UGH. But, we did find a good mechanic right here in Windham so there is a good side to that. We have been looking for one ever since Hillman's went out of business. However, the Teamsters have confirmed that they will carry everyone's insurance through October 1st, so that is a good thing. John is still pounding the virtual pavement, though, so keep a good thought. They think that the 16th will be the last day there will be work, but they are going to pay them through the 4th of May. I guess the good part of that is it will give John more time to actually go out and pound the literal pavement.
I am going to have to reformat the desktop puter over the weekend. John has done something to it and it just doesn't work right anymore. My feeling is he downloaded something bad, spyware or something, plus we have been getting an obnoxious system error message for a while and it's just time, I guess. I would like to switch to Windows XP down there because that way when John screws it up again it won't be such a chore to restore it. When I redid my laptop it was really quite painless. Laziness is the scourge of america. ;oD But that's $200-odd we don't have so I will be damn busy for the weekend.
Ian's IFSP meeting is this Thursday. Martie has been working her butt off with his regular school but I don't know that they have come around enough to make this a smooth meeting. Lord and Lady help me. Martie says he is doing so much better interacting with the other kids. And this morning, miracle of miracles, he said he was actually looking forward to going to school and playing with Evan and Jacob! When I left him, he was over asking Hope what the choices were so he could start playing because Evan hadn't gotten there yet. Martie is over there this morning so I am waiting eagerly for her to come back so I can find out how the rest of the morning went.
The panel discussion at the church went well. We raised $100 from the lunch sale that went with it so we have been pricing out books for the library. Thank goodness for Amazon.com. It looks like we will be able to get all or most of our first choices.
Aidan is, as I anticipated, having more trouble with the potty thing than Ian did. I am settling in for the long haul on this one. *sigh* She is absolutely unphased by being wet. When she does wet herself, she had no interest in getting changed! She prefers to run around in wet clothes! UGH! I often despair that I will EVER understand this child. She is more and more getting into the "girly" things. She wants to wear dresses all the time, seems to prefer her denim jumpers to anything else. She likes kitties and princesses and all her dolls and animals. She is getting as big a collection of "sleeping buddies" as Ian has! LOLOL But there is always Minnie. I hope they allow Minnie's in kindergarten. *sigh* But she is still danger baby. She was heading down the stairs the other day and wasn't watching where she was going or holding on to the railing. Slid right down from the second to the top stair on her chest, then bonked her head on the bottom banister. Remarkably, there is only a small cut next to her eye. (Yes, I ran screaming "my baby" down the stairs like an idiot and had the flash that she could have lost her eye...) But after a little cuddling and snuggling with Minnie and some medicine on the cut she was up and running around. For the first couple of days she was telling me how careful she was being on the stairs, but this morning I had to remind her again about slowing down and holding the railing cause she was heading down at full speed while turning around and trying to talk to me. (feeling another grey hair growing in) You have never seen such a site as a little blond headed 3 year old running around in a pink ballerina outfit, replete with slippers, tights, butterfly wings and little white antennas, growling and playing T-Rex attack with her big brother. *sigh* I just love her to pieces. :oD
I love both my kids to pieces. I have no idea how I got such great kids. I just hope Aidan survives to adulthood. LOLOL
Well, that's it. Peace.
