MAN am I in a
FOUL mood today. The gods cringe at the animous energy flowing from every pore of my being this morning.
GAD!!! I finally got a call back from Janet, the CDS lady, and it turns out that the Speech Therapist that goes to Ian's school can't get him on her schedule this year.
AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH I hate
EVERYTHING today. Now we have to scramble to find an alternative for him which may include putting him in the Special Purpose program which I
SO don't want to do for a plethora of reasons. The main reason is that when he goes to Kindergarden it will be more difficult to keep them from putting him in the resource room if he has already been in a pull out group. It boggles my mind why teachers just look for reasons to exclude kids. Martie talked about maybe getting an aide into his classroom to lower the ratio and perhaps free up the teachers to do some pragmatic work with him.
THIS ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE PEOPLE!!!!! I did it this morning while I was saying good bye to him. Evan came over and said hi and Ian didn't say anything so I said "Evan said hi to you buddy" and Ian said "Hi Evan" but he said it quietly so I said "Loudly" and he said it again loudly.
I MEAN COME ON FOR CRYIN UP A TREE!!!!! How much work is that?
UGH!
Well, the long weekend was actually pretty cool. John thought up this great game to play with Ian. He went to the Discovery Channel to
When Dinosaurs Roamed America and looked up what dinosaurs would have lived in our back yard. Then he gave me a list and I went online and got some coloring pages of those dinosaurs. Then Ian and I colored the pictures and cut them out. John made some signs on wood stakes with cardboard and he and Ian glued the pictures to the cardboard. Then they got the Big White Dinosaur Book out and looked them up to see how long they were. John got out his big track measuring tape and he and Ian measured out from a central stake how long each dinosaur was and put the sign at the end. Velociraptor was the smallest at 6 feet and Allosaurus was the longest at 40 feet. The just for fun we looked up some sauropods (who didn't live in our back yard) and it turns out that Seismosaurus would just barely fit. His tail would be back in the woods at 110 feet.
It was a fun day and Aidan played along a little bit too. I took lots of pictures so as soon as I remember to unload the camera I will try to put some up.
I went shopping at the Goodwill the other day looking for snowpants (because this is Maine and it is September) and as I was glancing through the kids books I saw one that seemed pretty interesting called
"Mother Earth" by Nancy Luenn. So I bought it and brought it home for Ian. We read it night before last and I must say I REALLY LOVE IT!!! It's perfect. It talks about the earth being our mother, the land is her skin, the mountains are her bones, the air is her breath, the animals are her fingers and we all are her children. And the illustrations are gorgeous watercolors. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone with children but especially those who are introducing their children to a pagan/earth based path. It's wonderful.
And last but not least, the results of my surgical consultation. The surgeon does agree that my gal bladder must come out. He wanted to do it soon but I told him that I don't have anyone to help with the kids and won't until December so he agreed to wait until then. So on December 1st I go under the laproscope. He said that 90-95% of the time it can be done laproscopically but if they get in there and find that they can't do it that way safely, they will have to get out and do a full incision. That being said I am operating under the assumption that is will be successfully accomplished laproscopically. This means 1 week off from work for recovery and 1 week at work half days then back full time. Which is cool. I don't mind easing back in to things. I'm still not looking forward to having my abdomen sliced into and parts removed and if nothing else I will probably need a bit of time to mentally get adjusted. LOLOL
So there ya go. Peace out, y'all.
