The last few days have been a bit of a roller coaster here for me. Friday was actually a great day. I woke up feeling very un-rushed, which is odd for me to begin with. Usually I wake up fumbling with the buttons on the alarm clock trying to figure out what day it is so I know if I have to get right up for "all day at school" day or I can sleep in for another hour. I live one of those lives right now where there is always
something I'm supposed to be doing. Which is why I don't do much writing or sewing or cross stitching these days. One of these days I'm going to just drop everything and run away to a cabin up in Aroostoock with no electricity and hide out for a month. LOLOL Anyway, back to Friday. The kids got up without griping about it, we had some nice talks while they were getting dressed and eating their breakfast. They separated at school with no fuss and I was off to Augusta. I still had the mini spare on the car at that point but John said it was ok to drive up on it so I did and sure enough I got there. Jill had plenty of work for me to do while I was up there which was cool. When they actually have work for me to do, then I can do it and they can give me better marks on my reviews. LOLOL And the true blessing of the day was on the drive home. It was 88 degrees and miserably humid that afternoon and my idiot fan motor has been out in my car for about 3 months. But on that day, for some reason, on the way home, the thing started working. I had air conditioning all the way home. How cool is that? Literally. LOLOL
The weekend was pretty quiet. John was running errands all day on Saturday so I spent most of the time with the kids. We played in my computer room for a while until Aidan knocked the torchiere down and broke it...DOH! Then we went downstairs and woke Daddy up so I could go up and clean it up. Then Daddy started doing stuff and we went swimming in the pool. It was a nice Maine day so we didn't swim for a really long time. Ian got cold after a while and curled up in the yard swing in towels while Aidan and Daddy and I went to see if there were any rasperries or blackberries left. I found one more good cluster of blackberries but that's it. The rest of the day was just playing and nap and playing and dinner and movie and bed time. Sunday was kind of the same but without Daddy cause he had to go to work.
Yesterday I made the ridiculous mistake of spending time on the Yahoo message board about the Alabama Monstrosity. It put me in a REALLY foul mood.
Which brings me to today and getting my teeth filled. I think I freaked my dentist out. LOLOL I am not a good shot taker. Ok, I'm a really crappy shot taker. Especially those shots you get at the dentist. They hurt like hell and I hate them. Little pinch my eye. Well today I had to get like 6 of them. 2 in each spot. I was squirming and whining like a baby and by the end of it I was shakin like a wet dog. He thought I was cold and offered me a blanket. Nitwit.
The good news for today is that Evan is back at Ian's school!! When I saw them come in this morning I pointed out to Ian that his buddy Evan was back. He got so excited he ran over to say hi but then came back to say bye to me and lead me to the door like he always does. What a sweetie. I told him it was ok to go play and he was headed that way when I left. I am so glad Evan is back. He is such a good friend for Ian. He's nice and they seem to get along well. Ian seems really comfortable around Evan. Keep your fingers crossed that this is a good sign for Ian this year.
