Well, as none of you know because I haven't mentioned it, I have been having occasional attacks of serious sharp pains in my stomach for about a year now. I thought perhaps it was just really bad indigestion for a while but after the next to last one I went online and decided that it must be ulcers. The diagnosis of which requires a gastroscope. *ugh* So I put off calling Nurse Kathy because the thought of a camera being shoved down my throat really doesn't appeal to me. Then after this last one when the only thing that allowed me to function was drinking milk all day (I went a whole day without one Coke *shiver*) I decided it was getting serious enough to risk it. So I called Nurse Kathy. She said that while it may be an ulcer (which is easily treatable) it may also be my gal bladder (which is less easily treatable). So now I'm all paranoid about getting operated on. Which is awesome in it's patheticness as my friend Kathy is going to go in and have major heart surgery on the 23rd. {{{{{{{{Kathy}}}}}}}} In the meantime, John is putting me on a "less junky" diet. I am having potato salad with my lunch instead of chips today. Martie is trying to get me to go on the South Beach diet. It's one of those Atkins knock-offs, no carbs that sort of thing. She's lost 10 pounds in a week but DANG has she been miserable. I am debating whether it is worth it in my current stage of life to be that miserable to lose weight. We'll see.
