Ok, let's see...My dentist yelled at me for not flossing and for not wearing my night guard. I am starting to get gingivitis in my back gum area and I am splintering my front teeth from grinding them at night. My doctor yelled at me for drinking 40 oz of Coke a day and told me to cut that and fatty foods out of my diet. She put me on a prescription to see if it will take care of the stomach thing. Right now she doesn't think it's gal bladder. Which is cool. Thanks for the positive energy Laura. ;oD
I went to Ian's OT session today. It was kind of interesting, actually. There were two other kids in there as well as Ian. It seemed on the surface that they were doing more gross motor than fine motor work but in retrospect, it was probably 60/40. This time, they had to start by rolling on their bellies over a big yellow ball, then jumping on a mini trampoline while counting to 10. Then they went through a tunnel of innertubes where one of the workers was waiting. There were rubber letter puzzle pieces spread out on the floor and she told them two letters to find. When they found them they took them into the other room and put them into the squares they correspond with. Then they came in and jumped hopscotch over some more floor pieces, after which they picked up a marker and traced smallish shapes on a piece of paper taped to the wall. Then they had to hop on one foot across the room where other workers had puzzles they had to work on. When they finished this work they did it again. I talked off and on to Sandy, one of the workers. She seemed receptive to my input and when Ian had finished the final lap, she spent some extra time with him working on holding his marker and coloring in some of the shapes on the wall. They all seemed to think it was a good thing that he wasn't going to be starting kindergarden this year. I suppose it's just as well. He won't be 5 until November. He could use the extra year anyway.
<hopeless geek mode>Ok, one of my best friends, Squirrel, emailed me to inform me that the Sci Fi channel was making a mini-series remake of Battlestar Galactica. Now in 1978, when I was all of 11 or 12, I was absolutely
obsessed with Battlestar Galactica. My then friend Tracy and I would talk about nothing else. Every Sunday night I tortured my parents by making them watch it. To sum it up, I was pathetic. Now there is still that little geek living deep down in my 36 year old, married, mother of 2 soul and when I saw this I was quite happy. But from what I have been seeing of the sneak peek previews and other things it is
NOT Battlestar Galactica. Starbuck is a GIRL!!! Boomer is a GIRL!!!! What's up with that?!?!?!?! I don't know why they need to do this sort of thing. If they have a story to tell, just do it. Don't take a story that is already great just the way it is and change it around to suit your storyline and try to sell it as the original. It's cheap a**ed and it's wrong.</hopeless geek mode>
Ok, that's enough for today. If I haven't shamed myself out of my small but loyal readership, I will see you later. LOLOL
