Well, any Mother's Day that results in three, count 'em THREE (3) packages of Lindt Chocolate is a success as far as I'm concerned. LOLOL And Saturday, I had a 6 hour nap. That was just decadent. All in all a pretty nice weekend.
However, I have determined that Aidan has inherited my attitude and I am therefore doomed. I am just desperately hoping this is just a "two" thing and she will grow out of it. Then again, I kind of like the idea of unleashing her on an unsuspecting male population just as she is. >:oD I rekon we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Ian has decided who he is going to marry when he grows up and he thinks he may know what he wants to be. He want's to marry Samika, a girl in his church school class. She is "nice all the time and a good person to get married with" And he wants to be a park ranger so he can take care of all the animals. But he doesn't want to move away from home. LOLOL Well, the psychiarist did say that his focused interests could be used as a learning agent and for future career goals. Here's hoping.
He had his OT evaluation. They determined that he does qualify for services. He will need to have Fine Motor therapy and work on processing oral cues. Apparently children with autism spectrum disorders don't process auditory input as efficiently. They are more respondent to visual cues. So he hasn't been ignoring me, he's just taking longer to process things. It seems to work better if I make sure to have his attention before I start verbal instructions. Which reminds me, I am supposed to write up some strategies for the RE program at church to give to whoever is going to be teaching him during the trimesters. Our first IFSP meeting is going to be on the 22nd and the OT person is supposed to have her report done by then so we can include it in the meeting. I was hoping to have the SP/L eval done by then as well, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Hopefully there will be a provision written into his plan for revisiting after that is done. He won't be able to start actual OT therapy immediately because we are on a "fluid waiting list" which I am told means that it's all a matter of funding as to when you come up. *sigh* So much to learn, so little time. :oD
